Welcome to MyselfRep.com®. By accessing or using our website, you agree to the following terms and conditions ("Agreement"). Please read this document carefully. If you do not agree with these terms, you must not use the website.
1. Acceptance of Terms
1.1 By using MyselfRep.com®, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into this agreement. This agreement is legally binding, so please ensure you understand and agree to these terms.
2. No Refunds
2.1 All payments made for services or products on MyselfRep.com® are non refundable, except as required by applicable law. Once a purchase is complete you are not entitled to a refund, credit, or any form of compensation, regardless of the outcome of your use of the platform.
2.2 A free assessment and a demonstration of the platform are available before purchase. You are responsible for satisfying yourself that the platform meets your needs before you pay.
2.3 Because access to documents and calculators is delivered immediately on payment, the platform is treated as fully delivered at that point.
2.4 MyselfRep.com® serves Canadian jurisdictions only. If you have purchased in respect of a United States jurisdiction, or any jurisdiction outside Canada, contact service@myselfrep.com immediately and your purchase will be refunded.
3. Description of Service
3.1 MyselfRep.com® is a self serve document preparation platform. Through a guided series of questions, the platform generates family law agreements and family court documents from the answers you provide. Documents are generated for the province or territory you select.
3.2 A purchase gives you access to the applicable document packages for twelve months from the date of payment, together with the child support and spousal support calculators included in those packages.
3.3 MyselfRep.com® is not a law firm. It does not practise law, does not provide legal advice, does not act as your lawyer, and is not a court. It does not review your circumstances, does not assess whether the terms you choose are fair or advisable, and does not tell you what you should agree to. Optional lawyer assistance, where offered, is a separate service, separately priced, and clearly identified as such.
3.4 Preparing your documents through MyselfRep.com® is the first step in the process. It does not, on its own, end your relationship at law, finalize your separation, settle your matter, or grant you a divorce. Generating or downloading a document does not make that document binding on you or on anyone else.
3.5 Depending on your circumstances and the law of your province or territory, additional steps may be required before your documents have legal effect. These may include exchanging full and complete financial disclosure with the other party, obtaining independent legal advice, executing the document in the manner the law requires, filing documents with the court, serving the other party, attending court, and obtaining an order or judgment from a judge. You are responsible for identifying and completing the steps that apply to you.
3.6 Not every family law matter is suitable for a self serve platform. A free assessment is available before purchase to help you decide whether to proceed on your own or consult a lawyer. Where your matter involves family violence, urgent issues, complex valuations, suspected non disclosure, or issues that require a judge to decide them, you should consult a lawyer.
3.7 The documents the platform generates reflect the information you enter. If the information you provide is incomplete, inaccurate, or changes after your documents are generated, the documents will not be accurate. Support calculations are estimates generated from the figures you enter.
4. No Solicitor and Client Relationship
4.1 Your use of MyselfRep.com® does not create a solicitor and client relationship between you and MyselfRep.com® or any affiliated parties. If you require legal advice, we recommend contacting a qualified lawyer. The information provided by MyselfRep.com® is for general purposes only and should not be considered legal advice.
5. User Responsibilities
5.1 By using MyselfRep.com®, you agree to the following:
- a) You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
- b) You will use MyselfRep.com® only for lawful purposes and will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- c) You will not use the platform to impersonate another person or submit false information.
6. Payment and Fees
6.1 Access to some features of MyselfRep.com® may require payment. All fees are clearly indicated on our pricing page. By selecting a paid service, you agree to pay the associated fees and understand that no refunds are provided unless otherwise stated.
7. Intellectual Property and Permitted Use
7.1 All content on MyselfRep.com®, including the question sets, the clause library, the document templates, the calculators, the guides, the text, graphics, logos and software, is owned by or licensed to MyselfRep.com® and is protected by copyright. The clause library was drafted by MyselfRep.com® and is not in the public domain.
7.2 On payment you receive a personal, limited, non exclusive, non transferable licence to use the platform and to generate and download documents for your own family law matter only, for the twelve month access period.
7.3 You may give a generated document to the other party to your matter, to your lawyer, to a mediator, or to a court, as your matter requires.
7.4 You may not, without our written permission:
- a) use the platform or any document generated by it for or on behalf of any other person or matter;
- b) copy, reproduce, publish, distribute, sell, licence, resell or share the question sets, clause library, templates, calculators or guides;
- c) extract, scrape or compile the clauses or content into any other collection, database, product or service;
- d) use any part of the platform or its output to build, train or improve any competing product or any automated system;
- e) remove, alter or obscure any notice of ownership or authorship.
7.5 One matter per purchase.
- a) Agreements. A purchase covers the agreement between the two parties to your matter. If both parties wish to prepare and compare their own versions, each party may purchase their own access.
- b) Court documents. Court documents are prepared from the position of one party. Where parties are opposed in a court proceeding, each party requires a separate purchase. A single court document purchase may not be shared between an applicant and a respondent.
- c) A different matter, or a matter for another person, requires a separate purchase.
7.6 Breach of this section ends your licence immediately and may be pursued as copyright infringement.
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyselfRep.com® will not be held liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of our website, including but not limited to:
- a) Errors in forms or documents generated by the service;
- b) Delays or interruptions in the availability of the platform;
- c) Your failure to meet court deadlines or requirements.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
9.1 MyselfRep.com® is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee that the platform will be error free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific needs. MyselfRep.com® disclaims any and all warranties, express or implied, including any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non infringement.
10. Privacy Policy
10.1 Your use of MyselfRep.com® is subject to our Privacy Policy. By using the platform, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with the policy. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your data.
11. Third Party Links
11.1 MyselfRep.com® may contain links to third party websites or services. These links are provided for your convenience and do not imply any endorsement or responsibility for the content or practices of such third party websites. You use any third party links at your own risk.
12. Termination
12.1 MyselfRep.com® reserves the right to terminate or suspend your access to the platform at any time, without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of this agreement.
13. Governing Law and Binding Arbitration
13.1 This agreement will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from this agreement will be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration Act of the province of Ontario or another applicable jurisdiction within Canada. You agree that no court proceedings will be initiated, and the decision of the arbitrator will be final and binding on both parties.
13.2 By agreeing to these terms, you waive your right to participate in any class action or litigation related to this agreement.
14. Amendments
14.1 MyselfRep.com® reserves the right to update or amend this agreement at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the platform after such changes indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
