MySelfRep® is a family law document automation platform operated by 14549368 Canada Inc., a corporation incorporated under the laws of Canada. We help individuals prepare family law documents including separation agreements, marriage agreements, and related financial disclosure forms.

2. Our Commitment

MySelfRep® is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. We collect only what we need, use it only to serve you, and never sell or share it with third parties.

3. What Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you provide directly when using our platform, including:

  • Your name, address, email address, and phone number
  • Spouse or partner information you enter for document preparation
  • Children's information relevant to your family law matter
  • Financial information including income, assets, liabilities, and expenses
  • Employment information
  • Previous court proceeding information
  • Payment information (processed securely through Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

We do not collect health information or Social Insurance Numbers.

4. Why We Collect It

We collect your information solely to provide you with the document automation services you have purchased. Specifically, to:

  • Generate the family law documents you request
  • Maintain your account and subscription
  • Process payments for your membership
  • Send you account-related communications (password resets, receipts)
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

5. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to provide and improve our services to you. We do not:

  • Sell your personal information to any third party
  • Share your information with advertisers
  • Use your information for marketing to third parties
  • Use your information for any purpose other than delivering the services you have paid for

6. Who Has Access to Your Information

Access to your personal information is strictly limited to:

  • You, through your secure account
  • Authorized MySelfRep® personnel who require access to operate and maintain the platform
  • Stripe, our payment processor, solely for payment processing (governed by Stripe's own privacy policy)
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS), our cloud infrastructure provider, which stores your data in Canada (ca-central-1 region)
  • Google, if you choose to sign in using Google OAuth (governed by Google's privacy policy — we receive only your name and email address)

All third-party service providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and are prohibited from using your information for any purpose other than providing services to MySelfRep®.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for the duration of your active membership. When your annual membership expires and is not renewed, your account and all associated personal information will be deleted from our systems within 30 days of expiry.

You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us at service@myselfrep.com.

8. Where Your Data Is Stored

All data is stored on servers located in Canada (AWS ca-central-1, Montreal region). Your personal information does not leave Canada except where required to process payments through Stripe, which operates in accordance with applicable privacy law.

9. How We Protect Your Information

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS
  • Encrypted storage of sensitive data at rest
  • Access controls limiting who can access your data
  • Two-factor authentication on all administrative accounts
  • Regular security reviews of our platform

10. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Withdraw consent to the collection or use of your information (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

11. Breach Notification

In the event of a privacy breach that poses a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required under PIPEDA. We maintain an internal breach response procedure to ensure timely and appropriate action.

12. Cookies and Tracking

MySelfRep® uses session cookies solely to maintain your logged-in state. We use Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. These tools may use cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or share personal information with advertisers.
